The cyclical blooms of colorful flowers during the spring and summer seasons supply frequent inspiration. A beautiful display of these blooms can be best seen in Park City’s public parks. During winter, the vastness of white horizons consistently stirs a sense of wonder. And all the people and visitors of Park City, Utah, give in to the unrelenting allure of the snow-capped mountains. Some of the stunning mountain ranges of Park City are the Bald Eagle Mountain, the Little Baldy Peak, the Empire and Flagstaff Mountain.

These mountains, along with the regularity of the changing seasons, provide stability, excitement and encouragement to the people of Park City, Utah. and to the rest of the residents of the Summit County. But when the sun goes down and the mountain ranges have turned into dark silhouettes, the people turn to a different source of excitement. The sources of excitement are the attractions and nightlife in Park City and neighboring Deer Valley.

Family Attractions in Park City

Family attractions abound in and around Park City, where you can indulge in festive movie theaters and stage theaters. Featuring weekly theater productions, the famous Egyptian Theater on Main Street presents theatrical delights that rival Broadway. Dedicated to fostering young talent, the Egyptian Theater Company also sponsors a Youth Theater, which encourages children to try their hand at stage acting.

As a town famous for its film festivals, Park City is home to many movie theaters. In and around Park City, there are five major movie theaters, including the Holiday Village Cinemas, the Redstone 8 Cinemas, the Cinemark Holiday Village 4, the Park City Film Series and the Ideal Theater.

Holiday Village Cinemas is located on Park Avenue, Park City, Utah. Aside from showing the latest movies, this movie theater also hosts concerts, business meetings, birthday parties and other private events. Theater discounts and advance tickets are also offered by the Holiday Village Cinemas.

park-city-redstone-movie-theater Redstone 8 Cinemas is located across from the Utah Olympic Park on Market Street, Park City, Utah. It is part of the small theater chain managed by the Metropolitan/Rocky Mountain Cinemas. The seating is stadium style and this cinema boasts the largest screens in Park City.

Cinemark Holiday Village 4 is located also on Park Avenue and this movie theater is proud of the fact that it shows only the latest movies from Hollywood. The screens are not as large as those at Redstone 8 Cinemas, but the Cinemark Holiday Village 4 is also used as a venue for the more intimate events during the Sundance Film Festival.

The Park City Film Series is also on Park Avenue and this theater actively participates during the Sundance Film Festival. It is a local movie theater that is a member of other cultural events of Park City, including the Slamdance Series, the Reel Classics and the Global Lens. The Park City Film Series is also the preferred venue of high school and college students who are studying the craft of filmmaking.

And finally, Ideal Theater is located on the Main Street of Heber City. It was first known as the Avon Theater, which enjoyed the reputation of showing old movies, particularly those that came out during the period of 1950 to 1955. The name was then changed to Ideal Theater, and at the turn of the century, the name was changed again to the Reel Theater. The Reel Theater expanded the variety of movies it showed and it also began hosting special events. A few years later, in 2006, the name was changed back to Ideal Theater.

Nightlife in Park City, Utah

For people who seek excitement and entertainment that cannot be provided by movie theaters, the nightlife in and around Park City, Utah, presents interesting possibilities.

The best place to find entertainment is to explore Main Street. Main Street has always been the most attractive and entertaining area of Park City. During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Main Street featured numerous saloons. Today, different types of bars, including popular wine bars and martini bars, have replaced the saloons. There are also pubs and nightclubs, which are considered the main nightlife attractions in Park City.

bacchus-wine-bar-park-city Some of the more popular night attractions include the O’Shucks Bar and Grill, the Wasatch Brew Pub, Kristauf’s Martini Bar, the Spur Bar and Grill, Harry O’s, Cicero’s, the No Name Saloon and the Bacchus Wine Bar.

The unique feature of the O’Shucks Bar and Grill is the outdoor patio, where people can watch the stars while enjoying a cold drink. The peanuts are free and there are also video games and billiard tables.

Kristauf’s Martini Bar is a small intimate place that is ideal for people who like to relax and have a drink after a stressful workday. For a cosmopolitan flair, there is live music played amongst the displays of the latest art from local artists.

The Spur Bar and Grill strives to have a “Wild Wild West” ambiance. This is why the menu includes a cowboy kettle stew, grilled buffalo ribs and roasted adobe chicken. There is also western music that encourages the younger crowd to shake their boots and line dance. It is a good place to make new friends.

Harry O’s is considered to be an excellent place to meet singles. It has one of Park City’s largest dance floors. And inside the historic building, popular artists come to hold concerts.

Cisero’s is also inside a historic building, but the cuisine is predominantly Italian. There is live entertainment every night, but the nightclub closes early at 10:00 p.m. (Sunday through Thursday) and at 10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

No Name Saloon and Grill probably has the most fascinating interior design. There are antler lamps, motorcycles and other strange collectibles. The experience is indeed lovely at this Park City entertainment stop, as they provide excellent customer service. The staff is courteous and efficient and the service is fast. Their cuisine specializes in American and Italian foods.

There are also other local hangouts outside of Main Street. Some of these are Peek’s Pub, Club Buvez, Timpanogos Tavern and Renee’s Bar and Café.

The official dress code at Park City clubs is casual, but most people like to dress up. Many of these clubs offer drink specials and discounts during happy hour. However, do keep in mind that Utah’s liquor laws are strict, with the legal drinking age being 21.
