Salt Palace is just the nickname of the Calvin L. Rampton Salt Palace Convention Center. When it was first built in 1899, it was just a dance hall with a theater and an adjacent racing track. Then the building complex was completely destroyed by a fire in 1910. A few decades later, a new Salt Palace was built, becoming home to basketball and hockey games. Finally, in 1994, the indoor arena was demolished and replaced by today’s convention center.

Hogle Zoo is considered to be the biggest zoo in the state of Utah. The name of the zoo is in honor of Mr. And Mrs. James Hogle, who donated a large tract of land for the city’s zoo. Today, the zoo protects animals of every habitat.

The Gallivan Center is located at the center of downtown Salt Lake City.
